You’ve never been to the West Lake until you’ve seen the magnificent display of dancing waters at the Music Fountain along Hubin Road. This is my favorite spot in Hangzhou’s West Lake. I have seen this many times but until now, I’m still amazed at its magnificence as its water dance with the music. Seeing how graceful the water moves with the music accompaniment made me wonder whether this really is just water sprayed from the water nozzles of just metal strings swirling on top of the lake. The water was swaying very slowly like the arms of a graceful ballerina (or something better). I wonder how they were able to control the water like that. Totally amazing! I can’t contain my amazement.

According to the Hangzhou Travel Guide booklet that we have acquired from one of the nearby hotels, the Music Fountain gushes 9 times from Monday to Friday (mornings at 10:00, noon times at 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00, and evenings at 19:00 19:30 20:00 20:30 ) with extra shows on weekends at 21:00 and 21:30. Each shows lasts at an average of 15minutes, each set accompanied by three songs from China and the other countries. However, when we went there on Labor Day (May 1), we already were seeing the fountain dancing as early as 17:00 which repeats every 30 minutes interval. I suggest you watch the night time shows because the water displays look more beautiful at night when it’s accented with pastel colored lights.
In a nutshell: We had three successive nights without internet connection so I decided to just browse the photos from our recent trip to Hangzou and other places. However, when I started playing this video, I was again so amazed that I played it in continuous loop for about an hour. I really can’t contain my amazement at this really amazing water display.
