Bleach Season 13 – Zanpakutou Unknown Tales

Bleach Season 13, though just a filler arc, is currently my favorite because not only you’d be able to see the real power of each Shinigami’s Zanpakutou but you get to see them in their materialized form, too.

Bleach Season 13 – Zanpakutou Unknown Tales is about the Soul Reapers (Zanpakutou), in their materialized form, staging rebellion against their wielders. They are being led by one mysterious Zanpakutou – Muramasa, who said to have killed his own wielder to be free from his Shinigami’s control.

• Bleach Episode 253 – Muramasa’s True Identity Revealed – The overflow of energy from Muramasa has caused Hollows to gather around the area. Worse, Muramasa, after collecting so many hollows to sustain his materialized form, has caused himself to be an Arrancar-like creature. Ichigo and the rest had to eliminate him before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Sode no Shirayuki appeared to save Inoue and Rukia from Muramasa’s attack revealing, at last, that all Zanpakutous had returned to their normal senses.
• Bleach Episode 252 – Byakuya, the Truth Behind his Betrayal – It was revealed that Byakuya’s Zanpakutou had been released from Muramasa’s control since their first clash on the Zanpakutou’s first attack. Also, Kuchiki Byakuya had been passed the duty, as the 28th Head of the Kuchiki House, to stop Kouga should he ever broke free from his seal. On their final battle, Kuchiki Byakuya released another of his swords form – Zenbonsakura Kageyoshi, Final Scene, White Imperial Sword.
• Bleach Episode 251 – Dark History! The Worst Shinigami is Born – Some hundred years back, with the help of Muramasama, Kouga scaped from his detention cell and began slaying everyone at sight until he encountered the head of the Kuchiki house, Ginrei. His failed attempt to take control of his zanpakutot led him to grow more hatred which eventually resulted to a weakened communion with his own sword. Ginrei, with the help of Genryusai-sensei, plotted to and succesfully sealed Kouga. Meanwhile, Muramasa had completely lost communication with his wielder.
• Bleach Chapter 250 – That Man, for the Sake of the Kuchiki – A flash back from several hundred years ago, it was shown that Kouga was actually an honorary member of the elite Kuchiki clan. It was also shown here how Kouga had been too much confident of his Zanpakutou’s power which lead the top brass of Soul Society to fear him to lose control of his Zanpakutou. While Kouga was waiting for his sentence, his Zanpakutou materialized in front of him and told him it was his inner desires that made Muramasa materialized without actually being summoned.And so Muramasa was able to free Kouga from his seal but when their eyes met, Kouga pierced through Muramasa with his katana.
• Bleach Episode 249 – Senbonzakura’s Bankai! Offense and Defense of the Living World – With the help of Kuchiki Byakuya’s zanpakutou Zenbonsakura, Muramasa was able to break the seal guarding his wielder Kouga. Ichigo has successfully reached the place where Kouga was sealed and burried but Muramasa has already completed the rituals to free his master.
