Albeit China’s growing crusade in blocking internal free movie hosting sites such as YouTube, they maintain a list of websites on this niche inside the Chinese territories. In fact, in the middle of this year, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) awarded license to 247 established Chinese portals to “host internet audio-visual programs.” SARFT have clearly decided that Internet video is a mass medium, capable of stirring the masses.
I used to frequent 56.com for having the user-friendliest search and navigation but for no apparent reason, it became one of the three video hosting community that weren’t awarded with license. Now I’m getting myself used to Youku.com where I managed to register an account though I haven’t tried uploading my videos yet.
As compared to Youtube.com, these China-based video hosting portals seem to load faster though I wonder whether this is only true because I’m watching the movies in China.
Here’s one of the uploaded videos that I have managed to embed from Youku.com. Please watch it if you have time and give me a feed back regarding in the comment section about the loading speed in your area.
30 Days of Nights starring Josh Hartnett and Melissa George
