Gotta catch ‘em all!

Do you want to know what’s keeping me busy these past week ends? You won’t believe me but aside from watching the Olympics Games (where China has been sweeping up the medals) I have been busying myself playing Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green on my Gameboy Emulator ;-)

Pokemon GreenThe Poke-mania started in 1996 where rumors has circulated the internet (was internet already a hit then?) saying the original Japanese Anime has been causing epileptic attacks on kid viewers due to extreme colors and flashes so the US created a “more tamed” version starring Ash and Pikachu. The success of the series led to video game releases bearing the same name, characters and plots. Pokemon titles such as Pokemon Red starring Charmander (which evolves into Charmeleon and Charizard), Pokemo Blue starring Squirtle (Wartortle, Blastoise) and Pokemon Green (right, emulator screenshot) starring Bulbasaur (Ivysaur, Venusaur) were released initially and were later followed with other versions including new characters as contrary to the original 100 Pokemons.

Pokemon Red GBA emulator screenshotHahaha, playing Pokemon after more than 10 years brings nostalgia as it reminds me of my college classmates and I (yes, we were already in college when it was released) going to a friend’s house after class to play it on PC emulators.

I’m not anymore updated with the current counts of Pokemon additions and I am stacked with the original 100 so I don’t know what are the new Pokemon characters or how many Pokemons were created so far.

Anyhow, if you also feel the need to feel a child again me, you can download your own GBA Visualboy, and Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green gameboy advanced emulator roms that I have uploaded myself (after downloading from another).

Now I’m looking for more mature Gameboy Advance games so if you have any suggestions, drop the download links in the comment section.
