I’m a mouse potato, not a couch potato so I see news from the internet more than from television and so far, I haven’t yet seen any video, news or press releases from the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas about the recent Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili sex video scandals.

Upon seeing the video, I kind of remembered when I was working as a student assistant (laboratory technician) at the Pharmacy Laboratory from the Faculty of Santo Tomas way back in 1999. My boss, who was the head of the Pharmacy Laboratory doubled as the basketball coach for the Faculty of Pharmacy at that time. Whenever the team will have a basketball game or practice, the basketball players would flock the laboratory since their coach, being the head of the laborary, hold his office there. I remember my boss would always mention the name Hayden (whom I think was the team captain at that time) and seeing the person in the Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho video scandals and Belo Medical Group photos, both Haydens resemble each other (though the Hayden on the photos and videos seem to have a smoother face as compared to that from the UST Faculty of Pharmacy Laboratory – baka nagpa-Belo ).

I’m not sure whether it’s true or I’m just imagining things so I googled for related informations using the keywords Hayden Kho and University of Santo Tomas but was only able to confirm that he’s from the same university and from a different college – Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.

Facts about Dr. Hayden Kho

He was born in Manila on May 20, 1980, to a pure-Chinese doctor-father, Hayden Kho, and a Spanish-Filipina businesswoman-mother, Irene dela Santa; one of five children. He describes his family as “above average.” He speaks fluent Chinese (he studied at the Grace Christian School in Binondo, Manila, for 14 years.

Hayden Kho graduated from the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, mind you. He passed his licensure examination last February 2007. He used to practice his profession at the Belo Medical Group but was promoted to a Marketing Directory position later on.So technically, he’s a doctor-slash-macho-dancer-slash-actor-slash-cheater.

Now, why am I writing this? I love my university and in fact, I have been actively participating in an alumni organization’s activities (the name of the alumni organization need not be mentioned here but if you’ll search my archives, you’ll know what I’m talking or bragging about) as a way of paying gratitude to my Alma Mater. I’m writing this because I want to invoke the University to speak for one of their alumni since they, and just like any other institute does, always take pride for whenever their alumni would take the lime light, even if would just be a minute of fame.

If the University was able to take pride and paraded Mirriam Quaimbao in the whole campus when she was hailed Miss Universe 1st Runner up in 1999, would the University be able to take Hayden Kho on a firing squad in the University Grand Stand?
