A new breed of cellphone scammer

I was so excited to receive a new text scam today. This is new because the strategy of the scammer is to pretends to be an OFW friend/relative informing you of his/her new roaming mobile number and that you have to send prepaid credit to his/her phone with 500 pesos. Here’s an excerpt of our conversation:

Scammer: Kmst n ky0 dyan?e2 bg0 q roaming #.may ippadala aq mga gamit mer0n mga cp.pwd b loadan u muna e2 ng prepaid card 500 may pag usapan tau im4tante.txtbk

Me: Melissa ikaw ba yan?

Scammer: Oo ako 2 muzta n kau jan plodan muna 2 ng 500 txtbk

Me: Ano ka ba naman. Nasa ospital anak mo, kailangan ng dugo. Di ka man lang kase tumatawag. Teka paloadan kita. Kelan ka pa nagpalit ng sim?

Scammer: Kc kaya hndi ako makatawg jan d2 p bos k w8 kna lang ang lod

Me: [Deleted]! Ako pa gagaguhin mo. Magpakamatay ka na. Wala akong kilalang Melissa. [Deleted]!!!

;-)

I’m still waiting for the scammer’s text but I think he/she have already lost all the will to reply. Hahaha! I wanted to scam him/her instead but I can’t think of anything to trap the scammer.
